Annette's Picks: Weekend Guide for Nov 30 - Dec 2

November 28, 2018

Ignore the little icons on your weather app. I don't think it's going to be a total rain-out so let's get out and Christmas-it-up! First things first, finish the Christmas decorating of your own house since all your neighbors seem to be way ahead of things this year...right?  Then here are some of my picks for fun things to do this weekend.

ZOO LIGHTS - I'm excited to see this since it's the first year. And if you have unpacked some broken string lights, bring them with the recycle in Lights for Lions. Only bummer is that this is an extra ticket even if you're a member, but they've got lots of little extra fun elements in addition to the light displays.

CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK - Lafreniere Park lights up this weekend which would be a great choice if the weather is rainy since you can opt just to do the drive-thru version.

HOLIDAY MOVIES ON THE MISSISSIPPI - The Star is the movie they'll be showing in Spanish Plaza so grab your bag chairs and check out the coolest movie backdrop ever - the river! Free event.

KREWE OF JINGLE PARADE - Santa's coming here! In fact he'll be the last float to roll downtown in the parade that's filled with fun and throws. Every year, I keep the commemorative Canal St holiday beads, throw out the string of beads off and keep it for an ornament. I love it!

PET SUITES GRAND OPENING IN COVINGTON - I'll be broadcasting live from the grand opening of the newest pet day care and boarding place and it is soooo nice! Because it's the grand opening, bring your dog and/or human kids for lots of extra fun! We'll be playing games and they'll have lots of activities. My kids will be there and maybe our puppy too!

SANTA - Trying to get our pictures and personal gift requests in with the Big Guy early this year. Probably the Lakeside Santa, but open to suggestions if you think one is better.

Whatever your plans are, I hope you have a great weekend and get some holiday fun in with your family!
