FOX 8 journalist Nancy Parker killed in New Orleans East plane crash

Veteran New Orleans TV reporter and anchor Nancy Parker was one of two people who died in a plane crash Friday near New Orleans Lakefront Airport.

Parker was reportedly on assignment for TV station WVUE, Fox 8 when the small plane went down in a fiery crash.

The pilot also died.

Parker was shooting a story in the stunt plane.

The Alabama native has worked in New Orleans for 23 years.

Parker moved to New Orleans in 1996.

She became a weekend anchor at WVUE. She would later become the 10pm weekday co-anchor with John Snell in 1999.

Parker went on to win five Emmy Awards.
