4th of July Fireworks

Here are a few of our picks for catching the fireworks around the 4th of July holiday! Since July 4th falls on a Wednesday this year, you can stretch out your celebrations over a couple of days. Have a fun and happy 4th!



Light Up the Lake Mandeville - Entertainment on the stage begins at 6pm with a special military tribute, Groovy 7 and fireworks over the lake at dusk. Kids can enjoy the Keep Mandeville Beautiful Kid's Tent and Old Mandeville Business Association Food Court opens at 5pm with picnic food for purchase. Picnics on the lake can begin at 10am. Slidell Heritage Fest - A day-long event with stuff for the kids, live music, and food/drink sales before the fireworks display and Bag of Donuts keep the party going after the fireworks. $10 adults, $5 ages 4-12. 3 and under free. slidellheritagefest.org



Uncle Sam Jam - Lafreniere Park in Metairie hosts a free event with music from Amanda Shaw, The Eli Young Band and The Topcats (performing after the fireworks). Food and drink available for sale on the 3rd of July. unclesamjamjefferson.com

Baby Cakes Game - Their biggest fireworks display of the season follows the game against OKC at the Shrine on Airline. Tickets are $10. cakesbaseball.com

3rd of July at City Park - Bring your chairs and blankets to enjoy The Marine Corps Band on the Goldring/Woldenberg Great Lawn and fireworks from the top of the Peristyle. The first 5000 guests receive free 3D glasses to watch the fireworks. Concessions will be available for purchase, or you may bring your own picnic. 7-9pm. Kenner Fireworks on the Lake - Treasure Chest Casino hosts the fireworks spectacular starting at 9pm. You can view this anywhere along the Kenner lakefront. treasurechest.com/whats-new/promotions/fireworks-on-the-lake

Sparks in the Park in Covington - Family friendly event from 6:30pm-9pm at Bogue Falaya Park kicks off with free watermelon eating contest for the kids, then a hot dog eating contest. St. Charles Parish Independence Day - It's the 28th annual Independence Day event happening at West Bank Bridge Park in Luling. The band Groovy 7 performs at 6pm and the fireworks show will follow the performance at 9pm. Concesssions will be available. Go Fourth on the River - One of our personal favorites since we've long been the way to hear the soundtrack that the fireworks are synced to! Head downtown for the dueling barges fireworks show voted one of the best in the country. You can see it from either side of the River and most spots downtown. go4thontheriver.com

4th Fest in Crescent Park - A new celebration spot for the fireworks on the river. 4:30pm-9:30pm. Entertainment includes the Victory Belle's and Bag of Donuts at Mandeville Wharf and Pan Vibrations at Piety Wharf. Madisonville's Old Fashioned 4th of July - The event runs all day long with a parade kicking things off at 10am. The rest of the day includes family fun, beauty pageant, kids' games, contests, prizes, and food. The fireworks end the day at 8:30 along the Riverfront. madisonville4thjuly.com

St Bernard Salutes America - 34th Annual St. Bernard Salutes America Celebration and Fireworks Display from 4:30 to 10:00 p.m. on the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center Grounds on Judge Perez.
